Biography

 

Valeria Caboi. Dancer, choreographer and dance teacher. She has a degree in Theatre and Performance Arts at Sapienza University of Rome and she has Post-graduated in Advanced Dance Studies at London Contemporary Dance School. She also studied at Forum Dança (PEPCCC Lisbon), Spe.Ri.Dan school of Sardinia,  I.A.L.S. centre in Rome and M.A.S. school in Milan. She attended choreography courses with companies from all over the world such as: Mats Ek, Ballet Frankfurt of Wiliam Forsythe, Random Dance Company, Batsheva Dance Company, Centre National De La Dance and Hofesh Setcher Dance Company. She participated in the Psychotherapy and Dance-therapy Masters of Sapienza, Rome.

 

As a performer she collaborated with companies and creative individuals such as: Elisa Monte Dance Company (U.S.A - Pergine Spettacolo Aperto), NineBobeNote dance-theatre company (The Place - UK), Compagnia Fattore Kappa di Giorgio Barberio Corsetti (Singapore Arts Festival - Napoli teatro Festival), Arthur Pita (London – UK), Guido Tuveri (Balletto di Sardegna), Companhia de dança do Norte (Portugal), PIA, Projectos de Intervenção Artistica (Portugal), Taika Box (Finland)

 

As a Choreographer she won the 1st price in MarteLive Rome competition 2010. She directed the Red T-Shirt Dance Project, active in Portugal, England and Italy with live performances and video-installations. She was chosen as a choreographer for the Swedish project OpenLab 2015 (a Kultur Halland- Region Halland Production). She created the project EYE LIE in Lisbon, Naples and Rome. She was selected as one of the choreographers for Oulu Dance Hack, at University of Applied Science (Finland). She collaborated with Argentinian artist Lucia Nacht in 'La Cosa Mas Proxima', between Lisbon and Buenos Aires, supported by Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian and Fabrica Perú. At the momento she is creating NULLA CONCRETO, in collaboration with sound designer Manuel Pinheiro.

 

As an educator she teaches creative dance, body awareness, physical theatre, contemporary dance and ballet.
